Note Edition 2 of this book doubled in size. It NOW includes several NEW chapters on Shilajit, its origin, uses, how to use it, research done on it, ayruveda uses, its composition, side effects and more.

The name Shilajit has its origins in the Sanskrit language, which essentially means exuding from the rocks. In summers, due to the heat of sun, Shilajit oozes from the rocks of the Himalaya Mountains and down into the Hunza Valley in Pakistan. Shilajit contains more than eighty five minerals all present in ionic form.

The Hunza Valley where Shilajit was abundant was like "fountain of youth", with many Hunza people living well beyond 100 years old in great health. It was claimed that one of the reasons for the longevity of the Hunza people was due to the Shilajit in their water. The Hunza people were known as "some of the healthiest and oldest living people in the world".

Shilajit is often compared to amaretto or nectar from God in India. It is well known for providing youthfulness to mankind for his entire lifetime. It is used for alternative healing uses, as a mineral supplement, holistic medicine and is great for weight loss.

This book explains Shilajit minerals in detail. It also gives away some of the Longevity Secrets of the Hunza people.

This "book" is actually a kind of casual piece of writing, more or less in the genre of a letter sent about a quick journey through odds and ends of anecdotal tidbits. It is an easy read that suffers for lack of editing. For instance, the author refers to "root vegetables such as beans and legumes." It gives the impression of something rather hastily thrown together and the author is clearly outside of her personal realm of expertise much, if not, most of the time.

Assuming that most readers would buy the "book" because they want to understand shilajit enough to know whether or not they want to use it, why they might want to use it, and how they might use it, information on the medical uses, quality of available products, and correct use would be helpful. So, let's go to the very brief chapter that addresses these matters. The first sentence says "no more than 500 Mg. per day" and she almost immediately discusses bronchitis and implies that 1000 Mg. per day would be suitable. Then, she backpedals and suggests starting with 300 Mg. and increasing this by 100 Mg. per day until reaching 500 Mg. Not only is this awkward but it gives the impression of very little experience with the product, something one expects when reading a book devoted to a single product.

So, if you are not particularly hungry for in depth discussion of shilajit, the author will take you on a quick tour of Hunza and then lament the changes that have resulted in the degradation of very factors we value about the Hunza people and their land.

There is a warning that the publisher might receive a commission for product referrals but if recommendations were made, it is not clear where they might be found.

The author does not include a bibliography. There are no footnotes, but she does reference the work of a few other authors. She is entertaining but superficial and ill-equipped to provide the kind of serious guidance needed by those who might want to add shilajit to their present efforts to be well.

Shilajit The Fountain of Youth Healing Mineral Book edition by Tina Willer Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews

I knew very little about "minerals" other than that they exist and that it is
advisable to "take" some from time to time.
This book cured me of that ... it is a real find!
Discover it if you can.
Shilajit is a prime ingredient in some of the most well-researched nutritional products. In this book one sees why. Well-written for the layperson who wants to know if there might be a fountain of youth.
Tina does a great job presenting the information of the worlds oldest living people. I found it fascinating. The mineral supplement shilajit is well explained. I had never heard of this before and glad Tina presented this vital information in this quick read. Super helpful.
I was interested in a book about shilajit and learning more about this substance. Unfortunately, there was little information actually about shilajit. There was a short anecdote about someone bitten by a black recluse spider, but then the rest of the "book" was about the Hunzas and their lifestyle. Yes, shilajit was mentioned, but not really focused upon and other factors in their lifestyle were predominantly discussed. Finally, this "book" was really nothing more than an article, and a short one at that.
Ayurveda is the traditional Indian system of medicine and shilajit is the king herb of this system. This book discusses the value of this herb and gives excellent recommendations for healthy living based on the Hunza peoples' long lives. Zip this book into your kindle and it may just take your health up another notch!
I've never heard of Shilajit before reading this, but was fascinated to read and learn more about it.

A community in the Hunza valley, a valley of the Himalaya mountains have a secret.

Shilajit exudes from the rocks during the summer months. It's well known as "nectar from God", in India. It has a reputation for providing youthfulness for an entire lifetime.

Not only do we learn about this fascinating mineral, we also learn the secrets of the people living in the Hunza valley and how they're extremely healthy and free from any diseases.

This e-book is so well written that I couldn't put it down. Although it's designed for those who want help and tips to a healthier living lifestyle, learning about the Hunza race in Pakistan is fascinating, almost enviable. It shows just how far off the track us westerners are regarding health and diet.

The Hunza people have unbelievable life spans without having any major illnesses of being affected, anyway, by "western" age related diseases.

Learn the secrets of their lifestyles and eating habits in this wonderful e-book and incorporate the knowledge into your life for a healthier, disease free lifestyle.

Tina Willer, the author, states that more scientific research needs to be done about these people living in Pakistan, so I sincerely hope that when more info comes to light, she'll share it with us by writing another e-book.
Low quality info. The author did not do due diligence on researching shilajit. It seems that the author "plucked" info from online. Because there is very little understanding of what shilajit is and how it works, all the myths are repeated in the book. It is really hard to write a second review on this subject again and realize that what drives forces around shilajit is marketing hype and not true understanding of this really unique substance.

Shilajit is incredible and fascinating as a substance. Unfortunately there is only a handful of companies and experts who understand it and talk honestly about the potential and limitations of it.
